Professional products applied by professional technicians will keep your leather looking and feeling great for a long time.

What is the difference between my household leather cleaner and the one Toronto Steam n’ Clean uses?

Household cleaners contain silicones and lubricants that provide an outer layer of protection but end up dehydrating and damaging your leather. Our professional leather cleaners, moisturizers, and protectants provide long-lasting rejuvenation without the harmful side effects.

What is Air Duct Cleaning?

Air duct cleaning is the method in which to clean the ducts and ventilation system that delivers heat and air conditioning to your home. Over time these vents andpipes become dusty and harbor potentially harmful contaminants. During our thorough cleanings, all ductwork passageways will be inspected and sanitized. To clean the supply, intake, and return ducts throughout your home, we use specialized blowers, vacuums, and brushes. We then clean any air handlers, registers, grilles, fans, motors, and coils in your HVAC system.

Why should I get my air ducts cleaned?

The EPA says if not properly installed, maintained, and operated, components of forced air systems may become contaminated with particles of dust, pollen or other debris. When moisture is present, the potential for microbiological growth, mold, increases and spores from such growth may be released into the home’s living space. Some of these contaminants may cause allergic reactions or other symptoms in people if they are exposed to them.

How often should I get my ducts cleaned?

Every 4-6 years or immediately after renovations. Please do not get your ducts cleaned annually and be skeptical of any company advising as such.

How long does the process take?

It take anywhere from 2-3 hours on an average home. New homes with high efficiency units may be quicker and older homes may take a bit longer.

Why do your prices seem higher for air duct cleaning than some others?

Our prices are fair for the work we do. If you have been getting your ducts cleaned for $99 or less, please understand that in all likelihood your ducts have not been cleaned properly. We have seen a rise in duct cleaning companies in the GTA in the last 7 years advertising $99 duct jobs in less than 40 minutes. No duct job will take less than 90 minutes even for a small bungalow.

There are some companies that characterize themselves as air duct cleaners, yet the services they provide are limited to Dzvent cleaning.dz Rather than use compressed air and air agitators to clean the return and supply duct lines, in conjunction with cleaning inside the air vents, these companies will simply remove the grills/vents and clean inside the vents with a basic vacuum.

Will the duct cleaning process leave a mess in my home or commercial property?

No. Our technicians are equipped with the highest quality and most state of the art duct cleaning equipment. All vacuum devices used in our process utilize HEPA (high efficiency particulate air). This filtration is rated at 99.97% at .3 microns—meaning there will be no mess left behind once the duct cleaning job is complete!

Is it necessary to cut holes in the ductwork?

Yes. We typically have to cut two holes per system in order to clean it properly. One hole will be cut on the supply plenum as close to the furnace/air handler as possible. The second access is made on the return duct near the filter rack/section.

What is Dryer Vent Cleaning?

Dryer vent cleaning is an important yet simple solution to many common dryer problems. Here are a few ways to identify if you need a dryer vent cleaning service:

Regular mopping only removes surface soil and not the embedded dirt that causes the grout to be unattractive. Professional cleaning restores the look of your tile and grout and extends its life.

How often should I have my tile and grout cleaned?

My house is flooded! Should I call my insurance company first?

No. As a matter of fact, your insurance company would prefer you call a waterdamage restoration company to begin water cleanup and fix water damage as soon as possible. The faster our crews arrive, the more destruction we can prevent, which decreases restoration costs and protects your home from further house flood damage. You still want to call your insurance company to make a claim, but you should not wait for an adjuster to arrive before calling a professional company to fix water damage.

What can I expect in this situation?

You will speak with a certified restoration specialist very soon after your call. Then we’ll do the following to help you reclaim your home.

  • Advise you of what to do to minimize damage until our crew arrives.
  • Dispatch certified, trained, and experienced water damage crews to your home within three hours or less.
  • Pump out freestanding water quickly, and then extract water from carpet, padding, and upholstery.
  • Remove carpet and padding if deemed necessary. We will then clean, dry, and reinstall carpet and padding based on IICRC standards.
  • Provide professional grade equipment for a controlled drying process of your home and its contents — this minimizes the possibility of secondary damage and potential microbial growth.
  • Use specialized instruments to locate hidden pockets of water and to technically monitor the dehumidification/drying process.
  • Work directly with your insurance company to process claims and get your home back to normal as soon as possible.
  • Make sure your home’s structure and contents are dry, to the recommended industry standards for your area.

How long does it take for mold to form after a flood?

It depends on what kind of material has been affected. For instance, carpet has a very short period of about two days before carpet pad needs to be removed. Drywall on the other hand usually takes about a week to establish. It is important to keep in mind that the drying process may take several days. Waiting may not give youenough time to dry a specific material within the time allotted.

My insurance company wants me to use one of their approved contractors. Will this be a problem if I don’t use their contractor?

It is your right to be able to choose your contractor. At Toronto Steam n’ Clean, we use the same billing processes and standards as most insurance companies and are accustomed to working with your company to reach an agreement.

What are the major causes of flood damage and water damage?

House floodwater damage can be caused by a variety of factors, requiring you to find a reliable company to fix water damage. Some of these include heavy rainstorms, burst or leaky pipes and malfunctioning appliances. House floods can also occur as a result of roof leaks and from defective gutters and downspouts, which can cause water damage in your basement or crawlspace.
